Abstract

The GeoDocente Initiative is a project of a group of teachers and researchers from different universities and public research organizations to offer educational resources of Geology in open access directed to different educational levels: high school and first university courses where Geology is a basic subject of the degree. Materials are organized to be used right in the classroom, with specific materials for both students and teachers. In addition, the accessibility of the different online platforms that allocate the resources allows to include additional materials designed for different educational levels. These materials are accessible in different formats: text files, videos, presentations, interactive files, etc. Resources are currently available on two open access online platforms: ResearchGate (with more than 6000 visits/year: https://www.researchgate.net/project/GEODOCENTE- Materiales-docentes-de-geologia) and a teaching platform in Moodle format of the Autonomous University of Madrid (with more than 8000 visits/year: https://formacion.uam.es/course/view.php?id=3). In the future, we intend to include the resources on the ACIERTAS platform, an initiative of the Confederation of Scientific Societies of Spain funded by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, which aims to create a network for the exchange of teaching materials.
