Abstract
In this paper we have compiled the current perception of women working in geosciences as if effective equality between men and women has been achieved to date. To do so, we have taken as a starting point the situation of Spanish women geologists described by Dr. María Antonia Díez Balda in 2007, derived from the study she carried out that year for the same purpose. For this aim, we have carried out a survey based on the previous one, trying to keep the same questions, in order to obtain comparable results that allow us to visualise whether important steps have been taken towards equality. We have to take into account that, in these fifteen years between both surveys, equality policies have been implemented under the protection of the Organic Law 3/2007 of 22 March for the effective equality of women and men, which, to a certain extent, must have helped to obtain more positive results than those obtained in 2007. However, the results obtained are not encouraging, showing that inequality still persists and, therefore, much remains to be done.
