Abstract

The archaeological excavation in Cueva de Arangas in 2007 mainly concentrated on documenting the Palaeolithic part of the stratigraphic sequence. This communication presents the results of the archaeozoological study of the remains in Level F, as yet the only level dated directly, and assesses their state of conservation and potential for reconstructing the management of this kind of resource by the Palaeolithic occupants of the cave, from the perspectives of both subsistence and the acquisition of raw materials.
