Presupuestos e implicaciones antropológicas y éticas del pensamiento de Charles Taylor

Abstract

Charles Taylor is one of the contemporary thinkers whose philosophical proposal, especially regarding his ethical reflection, articulated from a very specific anthropology,is a significant reference in the current debate. One the distinctive aspects of his thought is the restatement of classical issues as the notion of good, and the meaning and goodness of man’s life. His ambitious project aims to develop a philosophical anthropology thatamends the mistakes we inherit from the Cartesian proposal and modernity in general.Those errors are still present in the naturalistic attitudes of many philosophers. Through the five chapters that integrate this dissertation, and along the line of his reflections, we set ourselves the objective of pointing out the anthropological and ethic presuppositions of Charles Taylor’s thought, as well as their implication. In order to do so, we use the most fundamental texts in which the author himself establishes the basis of his proposal. We pay attention to the way his own position emerged when he came into contact with Merleau-Ponty’s phenomenology and Heidegger’s philosophy, among others.
