Abstract

Stimulation of pancreatic acinar cells with CCK-8 or the cholinergic agonist, carbachol, induces tyrosine phosphorylation of the tyrosine kinase p125FAK and its substrate, paxillin. This event, which involves the activation of phospholipase C and the integrity of the actin cytoskeleton, is not essential for the secretory process of pancreatic acinar cells.
