Abstract

A cross-sectional study on the incidence of hip implants in the Health Area of Badajoz is made. 1,001 cases have been detected in patients who have been undergoing processes 81.51 (PTC) and 81.52 (PPC), which represent the performance of a hip implant. This represents a population incidence of 304.36 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, this figure remains below 50% of the national average. As demonstrated in the study of Atlas VPM 2012. The trend of hip implants in the province of Badajoz in the Health Area of Badajoz during the years 2009-2014, is increasing since 2009 in absolute terms. The cost for the Public Extremadura Health Service during the years 2009 to 2014, PTC implants was € 3,344,137.95, with an average cost of € 7243.32 per process. The cost of implants PPC was € 4,711,908.46, with an average cost per implant process € 8,839.74. Our ultimate goal is to establish a centralized information system to provide information to all participants about the evolution of the activity and the costs of healthcare processes. Allowing access to this information in an easy, fast and sound manner. Proposing a scorecard system.
