Zusammenfassung
This research aims at a thorough analysis of how anagnorisis is used in a corpus of one hundred and fifty comedies by the Spanish Baroque writer Lope Félix de Vega Carpio. This corpus comprises five hundred and sixteen examples, analyzed by seventy variables. Stemming from the dozens of definitions and classifications on this technique ever since Aristotle, an integral conceptual system can be reached, which allows the development of terms related to agnition and typologies based on three different parameters: object, procedure and consequences. Each of them has various kinds of recognitions, which work either individually or together with other paradigms. Every option is supported with examples of works by Lope. The study is finally completed with the analysis of other factors that affect the appearance of this device: frequency, location, importance for the course of action, characters� participation, audience, scenography, composition devices, versification and lexicon.
