Abstract

This study attempt to examine the patterns of travel of young students at postcompulsory levels and the perceived barriers of these students to not develop active commuting. Method: An online questionnaire was used to measure the level of active commuting, the barriers perceived by students to not actively move and physical activity levels. Results: 78.95% of the analyzed students of university level and vocational training move in a habitual way to their study center in a passive way, being the main barriers not to do it in an active way the distance (74%), the lack of time (53.3%), weather conditions (27.3%), road conditions (27.2%) and fatigue (5%). Conclusion: The results showed that the population studied from Caceres had low levels of active commuting.
