The present study analyzes the attitudes that society manifests toward people with Down syndrome. In order to know the attitudes, a questionnaire about Down Syndrome and Media has been developed. The following results are extracted from empirical work: The group of people with a family relationship perceives that in general there should be more presence in the media and they reject the use of terms such as subnormal or Mongolian, which can still be heard in the colloquial language . People who work with this group demand a greater presence of people with Down syndrome in the media and consider that a greater presence produces a greater degree of reception. The study derives the need to continue working for the integration in society of people with Down syndrome and take into account the new forms of social communication. In a world where Internet social networks are becoming one of the main ways to communicate, we must study them and see how they can be used as tools to improve attitudes towards people with disabilities in general, and with Down syndrome in particular .
