Zusammenfassung

This research is addressed about the synthesis, characterization and, optical and electrical properties of the system based on ZrO2-Y2O3. The main aim of this study was the preparation of new multifunctional materials. Two new red ceramics pigments have been synthesized by the polymeric sol-gel method, based on the stoichiometry Y2Zr2O7 doped with iron and the lanthanide ions, terbium and praseodymium. These pigments exhibit an excellent coloration in glass, organic polymer and paint. The mixtures with the paint showed an excellent reflectance in the near-infrared region being the pigment suitable for applications as a cool pigment in building roofing materials. Compositions with high concentration of yttrium in the structure, the electrical properties were studied by impedance spectroscopy applying low dc bias and measured using difference atmospheres. Results showed a clear influence to the application of dc bias and to the variation of pO2, showing an enhanced of the electronic conductivity in parallel with the intrinsic ionic conductivity.
