Abstract

From the research in mathematical education upon teacher�s knowledge, the present paper attempts to integrate and present the conceptual characteristics of Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK), specific to mathematics. From an empirical approach, inductive or deductive reasoning, it was analyzed the characteristics and components of PCK, methodological matters were revised and a model developed, a way to define the conceptual elements and make them possible to study. For the purpose of this study, a content analysis was required. from which a dimensions system and indicators were determined for organizing and structuring the variety of characteristics and concepts of the components of PCK.
