Resum

The work carried out by GATEPAC. in the years of the Second Republic, represented an essential chapter in the history of national and international architecture. Undoubtedly, the support offered by the Generalitat prompted the study and implementation of projects of social scope impossible until that moment in Spain, being the study of the city its most prolific field. There are two events that synthesize the urban work of the team: the preparation of the IV International Congress of Modern Architecture, dedicated to the "functional city", and the presentation of the "Plan Maciá", that the Catalan group developed with the collaboration of Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret.
