This paper focuses on the study of the so-called immersive journalism and the use of virtual reality (VR) and 360º video in the creation of informative contents that make possible the user’s immersion in the story. Specifically, through an qualitative-quantitative content analysis, the works developed by The New York Times and published in the NYTVR app, between 2015 and 2017, are analyzed in order to identify their main characteristics and the innovative elements that this kind of immersive narrative introduces in relation to traditional journalism.
