Abstract

UNESCO’s statement makes a number of recommendations on the importance of promoting the use of open educational resources at all levels of education, creating opportunities to share materials under open licenses that can be adapted to different cultural languages and contexts. However, repositories using Dublin Core (DC) metadata do not allow the addition of educational information, which guides users to learn about the pedagogical possibilities and the profile of the students they are targeting, which makes it difficult to reuse its resources. In order to promote the use of open educational resources to the university community through the Repository of the University of Salamanca (GREDOS), a proposal has been made to describe open field metadata with extensions of Dublin Core, which contain Educational information about Learning Objects (summary, description, objective, content type, cognitive process, procedures, skills and abilities, comprehension activities, evaluation activities, methodologies, fields of application, associated knowledge, experiences using learning objects, subjects index). The proposal has been developed within the DIRED collection into GREDOS repository (Digital Educational Resources Disclosure), which contains Learning Objects, classified on learning styles and ICT skills.
