Resumen

Archivists perform various activities in organizations, this requires that they have differentiated competencies so that in fact they bring benefits and quality in these environments. Currently there are works, literatures and norms that define which are the competences that the professionals of the information must own, but they approach in general. The evaluation of documents is an important activity and requires a lot of professional care. With the expansion of electronic environments, a new concept of evaluation has emerged, in ISO 15489-1: 2016, there is an expansion of the concept of evaluation considering this change in organizational environments. In addition, the preservation of digital resources is subordinated to the performance of the evaluation, associating two great functions, so that one is sustained over the other. Expanding this approach raises the need for a discussion about the adequacy of the archivist's skills to work on document evaluation. The objective of this work is to define the necessary competences for these new environments and to compare them with those previously employed so that the archivists can act in their formation and acquire the required skills. The method used will be qualitative comparative research of exploratory descriptive nature, where it will be contrasted with the professionals' perceptions of the subject, highlighted through the application of an online questionnaire.
