Abstract
Al the moment of referring to the renewal of the sacred art throughout the 20th century, structural, spatial and symbolic changes that applied architectural convictions of the Modern Movement and the aesthetics of the avant-garde were specially wellcomed by the Dominican order, the true protagonist of the current renewal that takes the art as a starting point compared to those who propose the liturgical reform as an engine. In the present paper, the work of the Dominican Order to introduce contemporary art in the sacred space will be analyzed through the figures of Marie-Alain Couturier and José María Aguilar.
