Résumé
In this communication we will review the articles dedicated to the Cathedral of Burgos appearing in the artistic press during the reign of Isabel II of Spain. A special consideration will be given to the descriptions of the Chapel of the Condestable, one of its main attractions to the Romantic opinion, in order to show how the idealization of the Middle Ages, the exaltation of the Christian faith, and the nationalistic sentiment combined to make this complex a symbol of the past of Spain.
