Abstract

In the Magdalenian open-air sites at Gonnersdorf and Andernach-Martinsberg-2 we can find numerous pendants, all of them made from different raw materials. On the one hand, here we have studied jet pearls and their types, which are very abundant at Gonnersdorf; they seem to have been made in a standarized way. On the other hand, we have examined perforated fox teeth, specially the premolars (P2, P3 and P4) which have also been sawn on the root. Atrophic red deer canines (perforated, too) have been analyzed as well. Finally, these ornaments are located, not only on surface but also in the pits of individualised Concentrations in each archaeological site. It is remarkable, for its special characteristics, pit n° 19 in Concentration I (K-I) at Gonnersdorf, because it shows a visión of people movement in the Late Magdalenian Age in Central Europe, owing on the personal adornments found in this área.
