Abstract

In this article we explore the possibility of teaching discourse skills to beginner teachers. This instruction or training should be understood as the process of developing the skills necessary to maintain a covert dialogue while speaking, in an apparent monologue to students. Three training conditions were compared with a control. Results show that it is possible to facilitate the development of the skills involved. In the final section, we put forth our proposal in relation to a) a technological view of training, and b) training as a never-ending reflexion on and about action.
