Abstract

Teaching units occupy a central place among the specific tasks of the teacher, and therefore, the quality of learning can be expected to be greatly affec-ted by how well these professionals handle the programming, putting into practice and evaluating of these units. The aim of this study is to provide an example of a design or programming of the teaching unit "Autumn" for the second cycle of early childhood education (3 to 6 year olds). In order to best situate the design of the teaching unit, the pupils have been considered as a set of persons with their own peculiarities �some of which are due to the characteristics which correspond to their development by age� and which must be taken into account. Before dealing with our actual proposal for a specific design, we include some basic theoretical ideas. Finally, we consider the general aspects of its carrying out and the evaluation of the results.
