Abstract

For the last years, the knowledge about the procedure of Romanization in the North of the Península has increased qualitatively because of archeology. The "Asturia Transmontana" became a part of Roman structures following what we could considerer a "Nortwest pattern of Romanization". This pattern establishes an economic development in two ways: mining and farming (villae). One of the most important consequences concerning Romanization was the formation of a new local nobility of landlords, whose power will increse throughout the Early Romanity and Visigotic Age. His nobiity is very related to the Kingdom of Asturias, as we can see from the long settlement observed in some villae and its relation to the "geography" of the Asturian Monarchy.
