Résumé

This work is aimed at understanding how the areas formed by the Kingdom of Asturias in the eighth and ninth century are described in the Crónicas Asturianas. An attempt is made to find out if there was a logic underlying the territorial discourse, both in what refers to the northern regions of the Astororum Regnum and in what deals with the area won from the enemy to de south of the Cantabrian mountains, which formed a frontier on the Castilian plain. Subsequent works will compare this view with that of later chroniclers.
