Résumé

In the present work a description is made of the planktonic Foraminifera assamblages observed in the sections studied on the West edge of the Guadalquivir basin. A biostratigraphic scale is proposed in wich four biozones are defined: the Turborotalia humerosa Biozone, the Globorotalia miotumida Biozone, the Globorotalia margaritae Biozone and the Globorotaliapuncticulata Biozone. These range from the Upper Tortonian to the Lower Pliocene. A correlation is established with other áreas both of the Atlantic and Mediterranean domains and the paleoclimatic implications are discussed.
