Abstract

In this paper, we performe a gradient analysis by using the HJBIPLOT as an alternative technique to Canonical Correspondence Analysis (CCA) (ter BRAAK, 1986). The HJ-BIPLOT as a technique of Multivariate Direct Gradient Analysis, provides best results than CCA since it provides the same quality of representation for rows and columns, been much higher than those obtained by others. We apply this method to real data, and determine the species' optima respect to the analyzed variables and the ranking of the species in relation to the gradient for those variables.
