Abstract
The Gran conquista de Ultramar, written at the end of the Thirteenth century (ca. 1293), is preserved in four firagmentary manuscripts and a complete printed versión (1503). One of the manuscrips (BNM 1920) has been overlooked by several scholars and sometimes considered to derive fi-om a draft of tiie work. In this study, a new description of this manuscript is offered, discussing its relation to the printed versión and stressing its relevance in order to address the composition of the Gran conquista. The last section of the manuscript, quite different fi-om the printed versión, is edited as an appendix, and its main features evaluated at the end of this article.
