Abstract

We have performed a phytosociological study of pastures of interest to livestock raising in the province of Salamanca, performing a bromatological study of each of the communities addressed. We provide data relevant to all studies on vegetation, such as the lithology, pedology, climatology, biogeography and vegetation series of the territory. We observed that pastures featuring the association Festuco amplae-Agrostietum castellanae predominate in extension over the other communities, whereas the grazing-improved pastures of the order Poetalia bulbosae have higher protein contents and maximum digestibility.
