Abstract
Through several examples I intend to offer a vision of the construction and reconstruction processes performed by traditional poets ("copleros populares") when writing and composing about horrifing and shocking events ("casos horribles y espantosos"). There is a clear artistic intention in these authors, who build on their knowledge and craftmanship to grasp all the materials at hand. Nothing is left on the side of improvisation, and therefore it is possible to find a clear compositional model behind all of these pieces.
