Abstract

The physical, tangible and inevitable fact of death attends and condemns men since their birth. As a complement to their entry into earth, death becomes the only other constant, demanding -like life- the development of architectural scenarios where it is protagonist and presence. These places have changed their morphology over the centuries depending of the conception about life and death that has been unfolded, appearing today as spaces purged of ostentatious symbols, more practical, aseptic and neutral, letting that cemeteries, funeral homes or crematories accuse their modesty in front of the feelings of peace, harmony and calm that they expect to transmit.
