Abstract

This article sets out the main results obtained from a research study carried out for the purpose of analysing the rural schools from organizations sociology point of view from the the net-schools model. In order to do that we tackle these institutions studying the relationships between several social agents: teachers, teachers and parents, teachers and pupils and from a wide perspective we are interested in the relationships between schools and their communities. We show how rural schools can not forget the environment in which they are based in, and from which theirs pupils come from or how we can not think in a school without speaking about their relationships with the environment (considered in a wide sense). The study concludes showing that rural schools are quite far from our conception of net-schools, owed to several elements which are analyzed in this article.
