Abstract

La Vall de Gallinera (Nord Alicante) constitues a natural, space whose particular geological, biological and landscape parametres print it a high value as environmental resource. The valley runs parallel to an overthruting front of limestones over mans. In the southern shady margin, the visual effet the cómica formed by limestontes is highlighhted by the terracement carried out on the underlying maris, oustanding also this linearity the location of the villages. The nothern sunny margin is wholy constituted by limestones, being quite common the presence of Vrshaped gullys that stand out in the landscape by the rifhmic play of light and vertical shadows. The alluvial plane dosses towards the west by a deep Vshaped gully and eastwards by a karstic cannyon that enhances the landscape and constitutes an space of visual accomodation between the outern wider areas and the proper valley. The whole area bears a high visual quality and it is very susceptible to certain land-use activities
