Abstract

The abuse and maltreatment situations among students are increasingly common. Mass media frequently report on bullying incidents in sensationalist and frivolous terms, showing agressive behaviours as daily and/or excessively dramatic facts, without respecting the victims and family feelings. Students who are victims of lack of respect, intimidating, and aggressive behaviours frequently have difficulty on facing this kind of situations, resulting in higher probability of developing psycho patological reactions, whose consequences may last during most of the student`s life. The aim of this article is to summarize current asessment and intervention programs on bullying, to constitute the victim´s feature proofile, and to inform about risk factors whose knowledge is useful for the prevention and intervention programs.
