Abstract
We present a program that allows collecting geological information geo-referenced in the field with a PDA or Smartphone, to store it and to transmit it as soon as it is collected if necessary. Data collection can be done in a way similar to that used in the traditional field notebook or on maps and photographs. The information can be used as soon as it is collected and can be exported to other programs. It is also secure for the information and for the user because it can send the data collected and their positioning to a selected place at regular time intervals. Furthermore, it can be used as a geology teaching resource with high didactic potential since it facilitates and guides student work in the field.
