Sociología de la construcción de los conceptos académicosel caso de la "diversidad" en educación

Zusammenfassung

The current paper focuses on the construction devices deployed in the conformation of the "diversity" concept drawing from the analysis of academic discourses. In so doing we identify agents´ features and their generation and control of discourses, heterodesignation processes implicit within those frameworks, as well as the objectivising and legitimising mechanisms set up in the predominant narratives, proceeding from the collection and analysis of 218 social science articles indexed in the data bases CSIC-ISOC and Dialnet between 2006 and 2012. The results show: i) "diversity" as a concept subjected to disciplinary monopolization by the university education departments; ii) university agents capability of heteroidentification towards non university educators and towards students defined as "diverse"; iii) two hegemonic but competing approaches in the diversity discourse, once built upon specific educational needs, the other structured around cultural differences, but both agree on the pedagogical logic.
