Abstract
The article, remade from a speech pronounced by the author on February 18th 2014, analyzes the problem of the relationship between the catholic religion and the Spanish nation. Through the tracing of historical interactions between them, he proposes the "narrative identity", concept coined by P. Ricoeur, as the appropriate formula to categorise the relationship.
