Zusammenfassung
The recent stratigraphic work developed in the Almazán basin allows to establish a new stratigraphic framework. This contribution synthesize the sequential stratigraphy of the Paleogene of the Almazán basin in which 4 depositional sequences have been established. These four depositional sequences include 11 lithostratigraphic units with the rank of formation. These formations represent fluvial systems, alluvial fans, lacustrine/palustrine systems and evaporitic mudflats. The scarcity of paleontological sites does not allow a precise estimation of the age of the depositional sequences. The sequences boundaries correspond with important allocyclic changes recorded all along the basin. These changes are mainly influenced by the tectonic activity.
