Resum
This article discusses the concept of gender as a paradigmatic case of the boundary between Biology and Political-Economy. It examines the forgotten historical origins of the idea of gender as social construction in the Marx's Economic and Philosophic Manuscripts of 1844. His concept of alienation is a key for understanding the human behaviour in the industrial society and in the capitalist system, showing how alienation is not only productive but also reproductive.
