Abstract

In order to grasp the medieval idea of jardín (garden) and taking into account that this is a Gallicism scarcely and belatedly attested in our language, we have looked through the terms of huerto, vergel, floresta, bosque and salto in Spanish versions of encyclopedias, treatises on Geography and travel books from the Middle Ages.
