Résumé

Owing to its characteristics, the north-western part of the province of Salamanca (Spain) comprises a typical dehesa grassland. However, the degradation of the original plant communities has given rise to others that are strongly altered, very poor and currently of little use. In the present work, the authors have attempted to establish their edaphological and floristic typification and to account for the anomalies observed on comparing the soils and the vegetation. The results point to a temporal sequence that has permitted a clarification of the presentday use of the territory from the point of view of its generalized oligotrophy.
