Abstract
The paper places Unamuno in the tradition of fictionalism that started with Kant. It refers to intertextuality procedures and the «mise en abyme» as forms of fiction in writing. In addition, it analyzes the «mise en abyme» as a writing procedure in the novel Niebla (Mist) and the story Cómo se hace una novela (How to Make a Novel). It concludes pointing out the genre difference between both works.
