Abstract

Karl Marx's writings are consecrated classics of thought in our age. His reflec-tions on the historical relationship between nature and human being reveal his deep preoc-cupation with achieving a common future for all mankind. The solutions he offered in his youth for the possibility of liberation of human beings and external nature in a process of abolition of all alienation runs on through all of Marx's stages of thought, as this paper means to show. The concept of «metabolic interchange» in particular is key to understand-ing the process of liberation of mankind from its shackles, representing an advance step towards the establishment of alternative societies where human beings and nature are may be fully reconciled.
