Abstract
The proliferation of studies related to the cataloging of ecclesiastical music sources in Spanish Musicology, has caused that for nearly half a century many voices have raised criticizing the excess of positivism in the approach to this discipline in our country. Should we then consider the study of musical sources, the ecclesiastical ones in particular, a dead end for Musicology? In this article it is presented a case study in which working with parochial documents combined with the search of press sources, led to the recovery of a romantic-style organ and its function as a concert instrument.
