Zusammenfassung

The Council of Castile was one of fifteen that integrated the so-called polisinodial regime that governed the destinies of the Hispanic Monarchy during the centuries of Modernity. This Council could resolve certain issues on its own, but many others had to raise them to the monarch for consultation so that he could decide, without in any way the Council's opinion being binding on the king. The consultations were made by the Council of Castile to the monarch in two different ways, in writing and orally or "by mouth" through the so-called friday consultation, which was a privilege enjoyed only by the Council of Castile. The purpose of this work is to present some of the issues related to the government of the cities and towns of Castile that were raised and resolved in the aforementioned consultations on friday. To do so, the content is analyzed in one of the friday memorials kept in the National Historical Archive, specifically, that of May 23, 1578, therefore, during the reign of Felipe II.
