This study presents the results obtained after analyzing the psychometric properties using Rasch model of the Spanish version of the Parenting Stress Index-Short Form for use with parents or guardians of children with intellectual disabilities. The study was conducted with 542 participants, of whom 31.3% were male and 68.7% female, with an average age of 54.2 years, who responded to the scale of their relatives with disabilities aged 4 to 72 years, and an average of 30.8 years. The results support the existence of high reliability. The resulting model explains 40.9% of the variance. The items tend to measure medium-high levels of parental stress. Differential Item Functioning suggests the existence of minor differences based on gender. Dimensionality analysis suggests that the measure is unidimensional in nature.
