Zusammenfassung

The offspring of Mexican agricultural day laborers are a rarely studied population, given the vulnerability and social exclusion conditions under which these children live. Therefore, a Survey for children of agricultural day laborerswas designed to collect reliable data on their everyday life, work, school, and migration conditions. This helped to support the Baseline Characterization of Agricultural Child Labour through the International Programme on the Elimination of Child Labour. This investigation describes the development and psychometric data collected from a sample of 558 children from 5 to 17 years old from communities related to the agricultural sector of three states in Mexico. A principal components analysis generated a 63-item structure divided into six factors (56.1 total variance), as well as an Alpha internal consistency of 0.83. Therefore, the survey is concluded to be a valid instrument that allows us to learn about the life and development conditions of the target population.
