Resumo

Criminal law as instrument of social control has traditionally been used to regulate the social problems of utmost severity. In recent years, the media has been informing us about the problem of violence in couples, leading to public debate, while this violence being object of a State response. Feminism has been in favor and against the use of Criminal law in this field, lightning up a criminal policy that has resulted in the creation of gender-specific types in the Penal Code.
