Abstract

Lucas Fernández's Farsas y églogas, an anthology of dramatic works, should be analysed as a whole, taking into account the conceptual framework that underlies the actions of the characters. Under the appearance of grotesque and highly materialistic dramatic celebration, I consider there to be an underlying moral and intellectual counterpoint, indicating the work is intended both to entertain the reader and to vindicate the author
