Abstract
The main objective of this article is to offer different theoretical approaches to violence and audiovisual violence. For this, definitions of authors from different areas of knowledge that have focused their research on violence and audiovisual violence are collected. In addition, the limits of each of the definitions in the current context are indicated. A second part of the article analyzes different types of audiovisual violence allowing to deepen this concept
