Resum

Modern universities should acquire a new role as a fundamental actor in the scientific dissemination in extra-academic fields, bringing scientific knowledge to society. In addition, in the new law of Universities (LOU), within the development of its articles, it is established that it is the mission of universities to disseminate knowledge and culture through university extension and lifelong learning. The University of Salamanca has carried out an interuniversity academic extension plan called the University of Experience for people over 60 years of age. In this framework, the students of the doctoral programme in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics have carried out intergenerational scientific dissemination workshops. The experience developed through inclusive practices methodology has generated great acceptance among the attendees, being valued in a positive way by the students and as a highly rewarding challenge by the PhD students who taught the activity.
