Zusammenfassung
This study offers an overview of the current situation of the international graphite market, focused on the products and final uses of this metal as well as on the recent evolution of prices and expectations of its future evolution. There is also a synthesis of the most relevant international exploration and production projects, annual productions, reserves, etc. influencing the main current problems of this market and its potential evolution. We have focused only on natural graphite, although synthetic graphite has an important field of application for some uses of high added value and has experienced a very significant increase in prices in the recent years due to the anti-pollution measures arbitrated by the Chinese government. In addition, we offer a review of the characteristics of the main deposits of graphite existing in Spain, their current situation and the possibilities for future development and we also provide new data about some of the most significant deposits.
