Abstract

There is at present a tendency to return to ideas that defend the universali - zation and the objectivity of values through the fundamentaron of the absolute. One may arrive at this position starting off with an analysis of present day society and, at times, by means of profound and personal reflection, the reasons being that the excesses of technological reason and the lack of personal and individual satisfaction have lead to a situation where human beings feel nothing but indifference where values are concerned. When people try to alleviate such excesses, they find themselves taking refuge in a wide variety of movements of individualistic or collective nature. Nevertheless, subjectivism and relativism always dominate a person even if belonging to any such groups. This paper aims to offer a way out of this situation, based on the cultural, public and shared nature of human beings.
